Structural Engineering Software
All software is for the UK market and uses either British or European codes where
appropriate.
The value in brackets after the program name is the approximate file size and
download time using a 56kbps modem, times will vary depending on modem, connection
speed etc. Files will typically take less than 30 seconds to download with
a broadband connection and up to 10 minutes on dial-up.
Clicking on thumbnails will display screen grabs of the software, images are up
to 300kb in size. They may need zooming by clicking on the browsers zoom (Firefox)
or "Expand to regular size" (Explorer) icons.
Small Frame Analysis v1.20

3d static linear analysis of structures - forces and moments are applied on a model and
the resulting deflections and moments are calculated. Can be used on various types of
three and two dimensional structures ranging from roof trusses to portal frames.
It is a relatively lighweight program and is not a comprehensive design tool.

Portal Frame Analysis v1.01

Calculates the approximate column and rafter sections required for a steel portal
frame. It will also work out the forces, moments, reactions and stresses in a
single frame. Note - this is a 16bit application that does not support long file names.

Timber Sections to BS 5268 for DOS v1.01

Timber sections are analysed using BS 5268, this produces allowable stresses
and confirms if sections are adequate for their length.
This is a DOS application that will work under Windows 98/XP/Vista.
Freeware. Self installing archive.
The Zip archive is for use with older systems which may have problems running
the installer.
